Halloween Haunting

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting an in person event for the 2020 HALLOWEEN HAUNTING Road Races. As we move forward running events are going to have a new look and feel but we are looking forward to working with everyone to put on a safe and fun event as we have in the past. Lots will change but we remain dedicated to putting on quaility events for the London and area running community. WE ARE STILL A GO (as of Oct 22) We will update daily.

Covid Protocol for 2020 Event

Race kit pick up will start on Wed Oct 21st at SoleScience (627 Maitland St) to limit the number of race day contacts. 

Registration will be outdoors with a plexiglass screen at the table.

Runner area at the start/finish will have controlled entry and masks will be mandatory when in the area. Only runners are allowed in this area. We ask you to please limit spectators or have them watch you at a point on the course away form the start finish.

Hand sanitizer will be provided at the registration area for participants as well as the volunteers.

Start of the race will be spread out to maintain distance between runners. Your time will start only once you cross the start mat. Runners must to use a disposable mask (provided) in the start coral that can be disposed of once we start. (Volunteers to collect, and dispose of)

At the finish runners will be directed through the finish chute to pick up a prepackaged post race bag and then out of the area. 

Runners are encouraged to carry their own water as waterstops will be limited. 

Please do not mingle around the start finish area pre or post event. 

Results will be posted online (not posted on site) and awards can be picked up or mailed out post race to discourage runners from waiting around post run.

All vounteers will be required to wear a mask. 

Signs will be posted leading up to athlete area and at entrance to athlete area reminding of social distancing and mask requirements. 

Covid screening email will be sent to all participants 1 day prior to the event. Any participants that fail the questionnaire will be asked not to attend the event. Participant emails will be available for contact tracing (all participants will be asked to report a positive case in the 14 days post event).

Event registration will be capped at 90 runners per event to allow us to safely stay within the Provincial Covid guidelines.

Runners will be started in waves of 25 at a time. You will be notified of your start wave prior to the event and are asked to stay clear of the start finish area before your start time.

Our Mission

The London Track 3 Ski School, a non-profit association, is a leader in providing downhill ski programs for children and adults with developmental, physical, visual and hearing challenges. Students are provided with an exhilarating physical and social activity that otherwise would be unavailable.

The philosophy of the Association is that people with challenges should be given the chance to experience the joy of skiing while having equal access to high quality instruction and appropriate equipment in order to maximize skill development.

London Track 3 is operated entirely by volunteers and has an ongoing requirement for new funding. Funding is required for annual operating cost, capital expenditures and for the upgrade and replacement of existing equipment. Our mission is to provide a safe, enjoyable and rewarding downhill skiing experience for challenged individuals.

Course

A certified rolling, 5k loop course of Springbank Park. One loop for 5K and two for 10K. A single shorter loop for the 2.3K (complete West loop of Springbank; will NOT go through Dam Hill parking lot).

The Kiddy Trot is approximately 250m, including a mild uphill stretch, using the same finish as the 5k and 10k.

Late Registration and Race Kit Pick-Up

Saturday, October 24th from 10:00am to 11:30am at SoleScience (627 Maitland St).

Sunday, October 25th (race day) from 8:45am until race start at Springbank Park

Timing Chip Pick-Up

This event will be using timing chips that are attached directly to your bib number. These will be available during all race kit pick-up times.

It is important for event results and series points accuracy, plus a courtesy to other competitors and event organizers, that everyone pick-up their bib (including timing chip) and use only the one that is assigned to them specifically. If anyone knowingly wears another competitors bib/timing chip, both runners will be disqualified from event and series awards.

Awards & Points

Open Series points awarded for both the 10k & 5k. Kids Series points awarded for both the 2.3k and 5k.
All participants are eligible for DRAW PRIZES; you must be present to win!
There will be NO DUPLICATION OF AWARDS!
Awards will be available at SoleScience until November 27th, after which, all unclaimed prizes will be recycled. Don't just win a prize, stay for the awards ceremony and claim it.

Directions & Parking

From the 401 take Hwy. 4 north, becomes Col. Talbot Rd., then becomes North St. and ends at Springbank Park. Drive North to enter the park; at the stop sign, turn right and head to the large Storybook Gardens parking lot. 
Please DO NOT PARK ON THE GRASS unless you are involved in setting up equipment for the race!
